Avengers: Infinity War, Biggest Marvel Movie Yet, Hits the Red Carpet
Universes will collide this weekend as Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters this weekend. The red carpet premiere of the film last night brought out some of the biggest stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
For the uninitiated, or if you’ve been living under a rock these past ten years, Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of an 18 film narrative spanning superheroes and teams across time and space. Two tears after the events of Captain America: Civil War, which saw heavy-hitters like Iron Man and Captain America duke it out while their friendship fractured, the Avengers must once again join forces to stop a terrifying new threat. Thanos, the long-running villain of the franchise has finally arrived on Earth to collect the Infinity Stones, relics of immense power that allow him to shape reality to his will. Alongside Thor, the Hulk, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, the world’s mightiest heroes will need to stop Thanos before he wipes out half the universe.

Legendary comic book writer and eternal cameo Stan Lee also arrived in style to thank fans for watching the Marvel franchises grow and evolve into the global phenomenon they have become today.
“I want to thank them for having spent all these years for coming to see my cameos -- and of course watching the movie with it," he said before the film. "And now I think they're going to find the funniest cameo of all."
Avengers: Infinity War is hitting theaters across the country this Friday, April 27 and the world over this weekend. It sports a star studded cast list so huge that, if you’ve been a fan of at least one of Marvel’s massive 18 film narrative, you’re bound to find one of your favorites here. Writers revealed in 2016 that there are possibly 67 characters available to show up in the upcoming ensemble film—and that doesn’t count all the new characters and the mad titan Thanos himself!
A movie packed to the brim with superhero A-listers is sure to be a long one. If you thought Black Panther was long (which clocked in at two hours and fourteen minutes), Infinity War is set to run for a lengthy two hours and 36 minutes. It makes total sense for two key reasons: (1) the massive cast of superheroes mentioned above, including the core Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and the villains and; (2) the fact that Infinity War is part one (!) of the climax to Marvel’s 10-year, 18-film journey. It certainly deserves all the time it needs to give each character time to shine.
Unfortunately, the review embargo won’t be lifted until 3:00 PM Tuesday, but film critics, media outlets, and fans worldwide are fully expecting Infinity War to smash box office records. Black Panther, which came out in February, has already broken records of its own, earning more than $1.3 billion in theaters. With everything coming to a head this weekend, it’s no surprise that people feel this is the biggest movie event in history. We’ll be coming at you as soon as we can with a full review of the film.
Oh, and be sure to stick around for the juicy post credit scenes. Who knows what’s coming next?
